The hip joint dysplasia
The hip joint dysplasia is a being missing formation of the hip joints. The both joint forming bones, the glenoid cavity and the femoral head do not match correctly on each other.

A healthy hip joint is on the left illustration .
The other two illustrations show different severities, which it is recognizable that the high-density the hip head and the pan do not go together correctly and such an instability takes place.
The diagnosis of the dysplasia can be established with x-rays of the hip joint. Visible changes can appear at the glenoid cavity, at the femoral head or at both bones. At pups it is to watch only a strikingly loose hip joint at which the femoral head does not lie in the glenoid cavity correctly occasionally.
With the changes on the radiograph five severities are distinguished of dysplasia.
